Yan Xuetong is serving as the Director of the Institute of International Studies, Tsinghua University. He is also a member of China Committee of the Council of Security Cooperation of Asia-Pacific (CSCAP), a board member of China Arms Control Association, a board member of China Association of International Relations, a board member of China Asia-Pacific Association, an advisor of The Korean Journal of Defense Analysis (South Korea), Journal of Chinese Political Science (USA), World Affairs (China) and Southeast Asia Studies (China). He served as a visiting professor at the Monterey Institute of International Studies in 1998, at Georgia Institute of Technology in 1995 and at University of California, Berkley in 1994. Dr. Yan received his Ph. D from University of California, Berkeley in 1992, MA from the Institute of International Relations in 1986 and BA from Heilongjiang University in 1982.
